Are you tired of pumpkin season yet?
I could enjoy aaallll the pumpkin-flavored delights year-round and not get tired of it. Especially PSLs (pumpkin spice lattes)! In fact, I've been known to whip up a Frosted Pumpkin Spice Latte and/or Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie in the middle of summer.
But back to fall flavors...
Today I'm sharing my current daily indulgence...my energy maker...my comfort bringer...my warm hug in a mug...my reason for waking up in the morning...
Today you'll learn how to make my Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe!
Let me tell you -- IT. IS. AWESOME! A great choice if you're watching your weight - only 89 calories, thanks to the amazing natural sweetener, stevia. You can use either liquid stevia extract or stevia powder - just make sure it's PURE stevia (not Truvia or other brands with added fillers).
You can also use another natural sweetener, like pure maple syrup, if you want, but this will add to the calories.
This recipe has all the taste but way less calories, fat, carbs, and sugar than the famous Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Check out how it compares:
So you get all of the deliciousness with none of the crap. Score!
Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
from Trainer LJ at FitMixMom.com
- 3/4 c. brewed coffee
- 3/4 c. milk of choice (I use 1% dairy, but almond, coconut, or cashew will work too)
- 1 Tbsp. pumpkin puree
- 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp. pure stevia extract or powder (or other natural sweetener of choice - 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup works great)
- 1 pinch sea salt
- Combine all ingredients in a blender cup.
- Blend until well mixed and frothy.
- Heat as desired. (Pour into saucepan and warm up on stove while stirring with whisk OR pour into serving jar or mug and heat in microwave.)
PREP-AHEAD TIP: Throw everything in the blender cup the night before and keep in the fridge until morning. (Because who wants to measure everything out when you can barely open your eyes?) Then all you have to do is blend and heat up when you're ready to enjoy.
Don't forget to share it! <3
